Parents Night May 19, 2023: Water Safety

Parents were invited to join their children for hot dogs and hamburgers with a side of chips, a drink, and a cookie for dessert! This open-house event lets parents fellowship with each other while their kids enjoy playground time. This is a great opportunity for parents to get one-on-one time with their teacher.

American Indian Citizenship Day is observed on June 2. It was on this day in 1924 that the Indian Citizenship Act by Congress granted citizenship to all American Indians born in the U.S. The day celebrates the history, heritage, and culture of American Indian tribes across the country. All the tribes have their own traditions and beliefs. American Indian Citizenship Day celebrates their contribution to the country’s culture and is a reminder of their enduring legacy.

Introducing Black Beaver Medical Supply

There aren’t many opportunities to spend quality time with tribal citizens, and I was honored to meet Alfred Richard Molina, a descendant of Black Beaver! “Richard” is a pastor, Vietnam veteran of two tours, respiratory therapist, entrepreneur, and property owner dedicated to serving Native Americans through service and precision production occupations. His wife, Trudy Molina (Potawatomi), shares the same passion. She has spent many years in special education and loves serving others. Together, they plan to open a food & clothing pantry to serve the community!

Donation Helps Mission Elementary Meet Their ‘UnFundraiser’ Goal

On behalf of Delaware Nation, President Deborah Dotson was delighted to deliver a donation check for $4,800 to Mission Elementary, accepted by Principal Leah Bauman. The donation will grant Mission Elementary staff the funding needed to meet their UnFundraiser goal to provide a better learning experience by upgrading and creating more ways to increase student activity.

Native American Choctaw artist DG Smalling​ honors Delaware Nation once again through his incredible fine art skills with an illustration of the Wolf featured in the design of Coaquannock in acrylic. Tribal Citizen Barton Cartwright Portrait Artwork To Be Hung In The Borough Hall Of Somerville New Jersey

Tribal Citizen Barton Standing Elk Cartwright Sr. is once again making strides in spreading Delaware Nation’s culture and awareness to the Northeast region of the Country. Artist John Guarneri has been commissioned to colorize a portrait of Mr. Cartwright Sr. drawn by Harold Willard, a native veteran who served in the Navy, that will be displayed on the wall of the Borough Hall of Somerville, New Jersey.
