Luke Harris Announces Candidacy for Treasurer in October 5 special election
My name is Luke Harris and I am announcing my candidacy for the position of Delaware Nation Treasurer in the upcoming special election to be held October 5, 2019. I am a native of Chickasha, Oklahoma and am excited about the opportunity to serve our great tribe. I am the great grandson of Allottee, Charles Beaver Pruner, and a direct descendant of Black Beaver.
I am eager to bring my wealth of experience and leadership to the tribe to do my part in making a bright future for all of us. I currently serve as the Pastor of Crossroads Community Church in Chickasha and am a veteran of the United States Air Force where I served as Chaplain and honorably separated with the rank of Captain. A graduate of Chickasha High School I went on to obtain my Bachelor of Arts degree from American Military University and my Master of Divinity degree from Columbia International University. I am currently completing my Doctor of Ministry Leadership from CIU as well. I have had the privilege of serving the tribe the past few years as the Secretary of the Board of Directors for Indigenous Technologies.
On a personal note, I have been married to my wife, Ladonna Harris for 22 years. She has been an elementary teacher for 15 years. Together we have two children in college. Our daughter, Alyssa, is in her Senior year at Oklahoma State University and our son, Nic, has just begun his first year at the University of Oklahoma.
I genuinely look forward to the opportunity to serve as your Treasurer. I appreciate your consideration and your vote on October 5.
