Brooklyn Museum Fall 2020 Internship Program

Learn from, and work with, experts from all areas of the Brooklyn Museum. As an intern, you’ll be paired with a supervisor and integrated into one of our departments, participating fully in day-to-day workplace activities and projects with the guidance of full-time staff members. In addition to gaining extensive work experience, you’ll have the opportunity to attend seminars that focus on the role of museums in society today, and how they might imagine the future. The seminars will take place virtually every Friday from 9:30am – 12:30pm, participation in these seminars is required. The Brooklyn Museum Fall Internship is a part-time paid opportunity. Interns receive $15 per hour, and work 16-18 hours per week, starting September 18 – December 11th. Application deadline: by 11:59 pm on Monday, August 31, 2020.

Eligibility requirements: 

Current sophomores, juniors, and seniors, graduate students enrolled in a master’s degree program, and recent graduates with an associate’s, bachelor’s, or master’s degree are eligible to apply. Individuals currently enrolled in a doctoral program are not eligible. A select number of our positions are reserved for individuals with an Estimated Family Income (EFC) of less than $5,000.

All of the positions will be virtual, with the exception of the positions in the Archives, and Egyptian, Classical, and Ancient Near Eastern Art which will have onsite components.  All accepted interns will need to have access to high speed internet access and a computer.  The Museum does have a limited number of laptops to lend to accepted interns for the duration of the internship who do not have access to a computer.
