The “Keep Tag OK” law will NOT effect Delaware Nation members who have vehicles registered with the Delaware Nation Tax Commission.
If you have a vehicle registered with the Delaware Nation:
- A new license plate will be issued with each NEW registration.
- When selling or trading in a vehicle you are required to take your tribal plate off the vehicle.
- If a plate is lost, stolen or destroyed you can purchase a replacement plate.
- The only plates that can be transferred from vehicle to vehicle are personalized plates purchased through the Delaware Nation Tax Commission.
A new Oklahoma law starting July 1, 2019 will require all Oklahoma drivers to keep their vehicle registrations in their vehicles at all times.
Every tribal member who has a vehicle registered with the Delaware Nation was given a registration when registering a new vehicle and renewing each year. Those are to be kept in the vehicle at all times. If you have misplaced your current registration, you may purchase a new one at the Delaware Nation Tax Commission office for $10.00.
