The Delaware Nation Vocational Rehabilitation Program assists American Indians with disabilities in finding employment opportunities. We serve eight counties (Blaine, Caddo, Grady, Logan, Oklahoma, Cleveland, McClain, and Kiowa) in central Oklahoma to meet your rehabilitation needs. Examples of these services include Counseling/Guidance, Assistive Devices, Mental Restoration, Physical Restoration, Evaluations, and Vocational Training. In order to be eligible for the Delaware Nation Vocational Rehabilitation Program, the following requirements must be met:
- MUST BE AN ENROLLED MEMBER OF A FEDERALLY RECOGNIZED TRIBE
- MUST BE ABLE TO BENEFIT FROM VR SERVICES TO OBTAIN AN EMPLOYMENT OUTCOME
- MUST REQUIRE VR SERVICES TO PREPARE, ENTER AND/OR RETAIN EMPLOYMENT
- MUST HAVE A DOCUMENTED PHYSICAL AND/OR MENTAL DISABILITY OR IMPAIRMENT WHICH IS A SUBSTANTIAL BARRIER TO EMPLOYMENT
- MUST RESIDE WITHIN THE DELAWARE NATION SERVICE AREA. THIS SERVICE AREA INCLUDES THE FOLLOWING COUNTIES: BLAINE, CADDO, CLEVELAND, GRADY, KIOWA, LOGAN, McCLAIN, AND OKLAHOMA COUNTIES
Examples of disabilities may include but are not limited to, the following: amputations, asthma, diabetes, being Deaf or hard of hearing, learning disabilities, mental illness, obesity, orthopedic impairments, seizure disorders, speech disabilities, spinal cord injuries, traumatic brain injury, and visual impairment.
