CHICKASHA, OK — Tribal citizens gathered together on Saturday to celebrate the holidays with food, prizes, and gifts for the kids. Participants signed in at the registration table to receive a raffle ticket, t-shirt and goodies bag.

The Christmas dinner started at 11:00 AM (CST) with a prayer by a tribal citizen. Guests lined up to receive a delicious traditional holiday meal that included turkey, ham, mashed potatoes, and more, prepared by Swadley’s Bar-B-Q. Princess Lori Kionute and tribal staff served the elders first. While the feast was being served, tickets were drawn for prizes and gift cards by the President and young participants.

Once the prizes were handed out and the meal was served, all the children and parents gathered around the Christmas tree to receive their gifts, handed out by Princess Lori Kionute and the Cultural Preservation Department. Happy children opened their gifts and filled the arena with laughter and joy. The elders were able to fellowship and families were able to spend time together.

Wanìshi to the hard-working staff that made this event happen and to all the citizens of this great Nation!
