“The American Rescue Plan expanded the Child Tax Credit (CTC) and other tax credits to help families with no or low incomes, but as many as four million families are at risk of missing out on money their family could really use. Code for America, in collaboration with the White House and the U.S. Department of Treasury, have coordinated a national outreach campaign to help families in need get the tax benefits available to them. Families are eligible for thousands of dollars. A low income family of four, who didn’t file last year, could get nearly $20,000 in tax benefits – but only if you file a return.
