Receiving Certificate of Appreciation from Firefighters

On October 15, 2018 Delaware Nation was honored with a Certificate of Appreciation from the Oklahoma State Firefighters Association (OSFA) and awarded by Oklahoma State Fire Marshall Robert Doke. OSFA Executive Director Steve Lumry wrote, “I would like to commend the Delaware Nation of Oklahoma for allowing their employees to serve their communities during their times of need. Volunteer Firefighters are an important part of rural communities that cannot afford to provide this service full-time and whenever an emergency situation arises it is important to have those first responders available to answer the call.”

In September 2016, Delaware Nation Executive Committee approved changes to the school incentive program to encourage Delaware Nation youth to strive for academic excellence. It is important to know that the funded amount for this program did not change.

The updated guidelines were posted in the October/November and December/January newspapers. In order to ensure that all tribal citizens are aware of these changes we are also posting this on our Facebook and Web pages.
